Orlando, FL-About 11:00 am this morning police received a call about an active shooting at Reynolds Smith & Hills. Police arrived and searched the 16 story office building floor by floor. Police cordoned off the area and even closed I-4 which runs by the office building in search of the suspect. Police have said that six people were shot, one of those six was killed. The others are said to be in critical but stable condition.
The suspect Jason Rodriguez, was found later in the afternoon at his mothers house. He was taken into custody. When he was asked by reporters why he had done this he replied, "they left me to rot." A company spokesman has said that Rodriguez had been let go two years earlier for, "performances issues." The company spokesman didn't elaborate on any details.
I first seen this story today on the news and I couldn't believe what this man had done. I mean I feel sorry for him in the aspect that he lost his job, but that does not excuse his actions that he has chosen to take. He had no right to go into that office and shot and kill people. It was his fault he lost his job. He was obviously not doing something right.
I feel the most for the people and their families for having to go through this horrible ordeal. My prayers especially go out to the person who was killed and their family. It goes to show that you never know when your last breathe will be taken. You should live every day as if it was your last and always let your loved ones know that you care about them.
