The CEO of Seaworld says that they will be resuming there shows this weekend, following the tragic death of Dawn Brancheau. The 40 year old training was killed by a killer whale. She had been in the tank with the killer whale when for reasons unknown the whale grabbed her by her ponytail and dragged her underwater.
The CEO claims that they are looking into her death. They have said that they are questioning whether or not she did anything wrong that would have provoked the whale. They have also said that this is not the first death that this whale has been involved in.
Former Seaworld trainer Thad Lacinak has said that if Dawn was standing here she would say "that she could not believe that she let that happen." He has also said that Dawn was the best whale trainer that he had ever worked with. He goes on to say that she wasn't following protocol by laying in the slide out so close to the killer whale.
What bothers me about this is regardless of the fault this lady is dead. Her family is having to deal with a very tragic loss, and they don't seem to give a hoot. Where is the sympathy? This whole story sounds fishy to me. She hasn't even been gone a week and they are trying to lay blame on the one person that cannot defend herself. That my friends is what you call the start of a cover up!!!

Kidds Kids
I don't know if any of you out there listen to 92.5, but a few months ago I was on my way to work listening to the radio, when I heard this amazing story.
The radio show kitkradick, does a marathon of sorts once a year. It is to raise money to be able to take a bunch of children on a trip to Disneyland in Orlando FL. The thing is these children that get chosen all have these horrible diseases such as cancer. They said that most years they will see different children because some don't make it.
When I was listening to this I found that I had started to cry. Just hearing these stories was very hard for me. I have four children and I am thankful everyday that they are alive and healthy.
Anyway, they were on there promoting this trip that they call Kidds kids. I think that they are doing amazing things. They are trying to give these children something that they can look forward to. My reason for wanting people to know about this is because they were saying that they can only take so many, because of the expenses. I am hoping that if just maybe one more person hears of this maybe they can raise enough money to let more children go. I don't know how they decide who can go and who can't.
I think this is one of the best things that I have ever heard about. I can not attach more than just there web site because it is the only one I know of for this. But, I hope that someone out there will at least look at there web site. It is such a great cause. They only go once a year and it is not until the end of the year. But they do have photos on there web site from there trips that can be looked at.
To anyone who reads this thank you for at least looking at this post. God bless all these children and their families.

Starting to Feel Overwhelmed
I am going to complain a little this week.
I am really starting to feel overwhelmed, I am taking three online classes this semester. Which by the way doesn't sound like a lot, but with my schedule it is.
Just to give you an idea of how my week goes.
Everyday I get up at 7:00, get the kids ready and take them to school. Pick up my mom and step dad take one to work one to my great grandmas, (my mom takes are of her during the day.) Then I go to work. I work until 5:00, then work my way back the same way I came. Picking up everyone. Then I come home cook dinner, eat help the kids with their homework, and then when I am lucky I work on my homework. This is what I do on Tuesdays. On Mondays my youngest son has boy scouts at 6:30 so I don't get to my homework on Mondays very often. On Wednesdays my stepson has boy scouts at 7:00. So Wednesdays are pretty much taken also. Then on Thursdays me and my husband have our Internet business that we have meeting for every Thursday from 8:00 until 10:30. So there goes Thursday.
Keep in mind that we are both work full time, we both have three online classes and we are doing our own business. Plus boy scouts, my daughter is in band, and my oldest son is in drama class.
So as you might be able to tell we are pretty much booked every hour of every day. I get to read my history and English on my lunch break while I eat. Which a times can be pretty hard to sit in your car and eat and read at the same time. When I have papers due or quizzes to take I usually have to do them after the kids go to bed around 9:30 to 10:00.
The main reason I am feeling overwhelmed is because my math class I am about three weeks behind in the assignments. So I am trying to play catch up. Which is challenging considering that the main time I have to do this is late at night. Sometimes on the weekends I am free from everything else to do it then.
Anyway If anyone out there has anything that might be helpful feel free to let me know.

Boy Scout 100th Year
This year is the boy scouts 100th year. They were established on February 8, 1910. I am mainly aware of this because I have two boys in boy scouts.
It was started in America by a man named William Boyce. He had been on a business trip in London in 1909. He became lost in the London fog and a boy scout showed him to his destination. Boyce offered to pay the boy scout but he refused. He had refused saying that he had done his good turn. When Boyce asked him what that was about the boy said that a boy scout has to do a good turn daily.
Boyce was so impressed with the boy that he asked to be taken to the office of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the boy scouts. He then took the idea back to the United States and boy scouts was officially started.
The BSA was charted by congress in 1916. Scouting began in Sequoyah County in the early 1920's.
I personally have quickly become a big fan of the BSA. I have my stepson who is in the boy scout troop 9. Then my youngest son is in the cub scout troop 9. Just this last Saturday they did a parade in Joplin with all the area troops. They walked two and a half miles. It was pretty amazing to see all the different boys in the parade. They had troops from Joplin, Marionville, and Stella. There were more but I cannot remember them all. They had 6 police officers walking t=in the front. Two officers riding bicycles, and four riding motorcycles. I was truly something I am very glad my boys were able to take part in.
This weekend they are having Blue and Gold Banquet, which is a catered dinner. Plus they are having the pinewood derby races. My stepson once a month goes camping with his troop and he really seems to enjoy it.
So I would just like to let everyone know of this great organization for young boys. They truly do have a great time with each other.

Olympic Luger Dies On Track
Nodar Kumaritashvili, 21, died Friday on his final official training run. He had a serious crash near the end of the 4,500 foot long course, and he was propelled off the track. Video shows Nodar lying motionless after he hit a steel pole. He was given CPR by the medical staff before being taken to the hospital and was unable to be revived.
Nodar's death has sparked concerns about the speed of the Whistler Sliding Center. They are saying that there have been several crashes in the same area. The track speed record has been reported to be 95 mph. That to me sounds crazy.
The fact that there have been reported other crashes in the same area should do more that spark a concern. Nodar had crashed at the 16 and final turn on the track. The IOC president has declined to comment on what safety precautions will be made. They are saying that Nodar was going 88 mph when he crashed.

People With Road Rage
As most of you who read this will be able to tell this is going to be my opinion piece for this week. This is about people with road rage.
I was coming home from work the other night, on 171 and I was in the passing lane going 75 mph. This freak came out of nowhere got on my bumper and was not backing off. Well the problem with that was there was a car next to me in the right hand lane so I had no where to go. Well I was already going 75 and I was not going to speed up even faster just to get over. So, after about 5 miles of this persons crap, The car that was in the right hand lane slowed down just enough so that I could get over. Well, at least that is what I thought. Before I could get over the car behind me got over so I just stayed where I was. My thought was so that whoever it was would get away from me. Well little did I know that was not the case.
This crazy lunatic came inches from my car I had to slam on my brakes, which at 75 mph you can imagine is not pleasant, just so they wouldn't hit me. Then to just to be a witch, this person slows way down and stays right in front of me. It was like I had a stalker on the highway. If I got over they got over, if I put on my turn signal to take an exit ramp they did.
Talk about a freak behind the wheel. I finally said enough was enough and called 911 from my cell phone. (If you ever have to do this good luck!) The only thing they said was that they would send someone looking for them and see if they were driving irratically. Which by the time I got off the phone with them I was entering Carthage city limits.
This person finally turned the opposite way but I could not believe that this had happened. I am still trying to figure out why they tried to hit me. I would have understood if I would have been driving slow or something but I was already speeding. I can not help it if I go to pass someone and they speed up.
My therory on this is that they should have more cops patroling the highways. Someone like that is why people get killed in wrecks. I am just glad that my kids were not in my car with me. I really hope that people will read this and stop to think before they do something that stupid and end up killing an innocent person or someones child. I think that there needs to be tougher laws on people who do kill people in wrecks. The justice system needs to start making people be held accountable for their actions.

Cancer In Children, I Don't Understand
I am not sure if I am the only one that doesn't understand this but I guess i will find out.
I do not understand how something so precious as a child can get cancer and pass away long before their time. I am glad that there are places like St. Jude out there that can help these children and their families. The thing that puzzles me the most is that all of the precious little ones are so helpless and then to hear that your child has cancer and that all you can do is stand by and hope for the best.
I knew that things like this happened a lot, but until I watched My Sisters Keeper, I don't guess that I ever really thought about it. I guess it was one of those things that you just block out because it is so heart wrenching. If you have not seen My Sister's Keeper I highly recommend watching it, just make sure you have a box of tissues with you.
Right before I heard about that movie, I was driving to work and heard a story on the radio about a little girl from Crum, MO. It was around July, and her dad and stepmother had found out that their little girl had a type of brain cancer. They had done surgery I believe 2 or 3 times and the last one that they did, they had to go out and tell her parents that their wasn't anything that they could do. I am not sure what type of cancer it was but I do remember that they had said that it was an aggressive one.
The family wanted to be able to give her the one thing she loved the most and that was Christmas. So they had to petition the city to be allowed to put up their Christmas lights for this little girl. As it so happened, the city was so moved by this little girls story that they arranged for a Christmas parade that would go to this girls house for her.
Word then got around about this girls story and the radio station contacted her dad and had asked him if there was anything that his little girl wanted but they couldn't get for her. Her dad said that he couldn't think of a single thing but that he was very thankful that they had asked. After the radio station got off the phone with her dad they was saying that maybe later they could go back and do something for the two other children in this family. (They were meaning after this girl passed.)
Now, I understand what they were wanting to do. They were wanted to make sure that these children got something good to help them through such a rotten time. But, on the other hand my initial thought was how morbid is that. No one wants to think about what they can do after someone so young passes away. But after much thought I understood.
I guess the whole point of this blog is to bring awareness to people. There is so many people out there that never stop to think about donating to something like St. Jude Hospital and maybe they can't, but at least at some time in the next 24 hours I would like to encourage everyone who reads this to look up St. Jude's online and just be thankful that there are places out there that can help people in such a tragic time.
Here is a blog that is about another little girl. Please just go to this blog and read it.

Brittany Murphy's Death Could Have Been Prevented
As most of us have heard by now, actress Brittany Murphy died on December 20, 2009 after she collapsed in her shower. Today the coroner has released the results of the autopsy. They are saying that she has died from pneumonia. They have said that she did have some prescription medication in her system but that she died from the pneumonia.
They have said that had she went to a doctor her death could have been prevented. Which is true, pneumonia is a treatable lung infection. I have never personally had pneumonia, but my husband has. He was put on IV antibiotics and kept in the hospital overnight, and yes he survived!
I do wonder if she knew that she had pneumonia why not get treated. The antibiotics are expensive but they work. (And I am sure that she could afford it.) That is why I think that this whole thing is kind of fishy. Because someone with her status, such as being know to have an eating disorder and it has been rumored that she also had a drug problem, so I find it a little hard to believe that she truly died from pneumonia.
I do not however believe all the garbage about her husband being responsible for her death. I think that maybe some of Brittany's friends were jealous of their relationship and are now trying to get back at someone.
I feel really sorry for her husband and her family for people saying those rotten things at such a horrible time in their lives. I do however think that maybe there is a chance that the real cause of her death such as maybe her eating problem are being made less of then what they should be.
