Amanda Knox: Gulity

An Italian court has found Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito guilty in the stabbing death of the British exchange student Meredith Kercher. Amanda received 26 years in prison and her boyfriend received 25 years in prison. Both were convicted on all charges except theft, and both were ordered to pay 5 million euros (7.5 million American) to the victims family.

Knox must also pay $60,000 to the man she falsely accused of the murder. Amanda sobbed while the judge read the verdict. Hardly any of the eight jurors looked at her while the verdict was read. The Knox family is saying that Amanda is innocent and that they had no real evidence against Amanda.

I find this story very fascinating because of the fact that this is happening in another country. It is hard to understand there idea of DNA evidence. If they had found Amanda's DNA on a kitchen knife how do they know that it wasn't there before the murder? Amanda and Meredith were roommates, so therefore both of there DNA would be on the knifes that are in the house.

By no means am I saying that I think that Amanda is innocent I believe that she at least knew what was happening to Meredith. I think that what happened was that Meredith pissed Amanda off and she sought revenge. I feel that Amanda was guilty at least to some extent. So for me I think that she probably got what she deserved.
